Case Review No. 2

The Illusion of the Panorex and
the Sinus Augmentation.

Another case submitted for the forum for discussion.  The illustrated case demonstrates that this technology requires planning before the scan is done, and before the sinus augmentation procedure is done.

There are SEVEN NEW FIGURES.

COMMENTARY:

It is important to understand the three dimensional picture of the sinus for purposes of augmentation.  If we are going to add bone in the sinus, it would be great to get adequate height and width of new bone with sufficient volume to surround a long and wide implant.   And without a CT scan template to indicate proper or desired tooth position, you never know the true relationship of the alveolar crestal bone to the restorative needs of the patient.
